Ask for limited access to drafts to be changed

You can control who can see drafts of content in Whitehall Publisher.

You can limit access by organisation or opt to have no access limits, meaning anyone can access the draft.

Content with limited access will not be copied across to Integration.

If you need to change access

If you already have access to the draft and you want to change who has access, you can do this in Whitehall Publisher. Update the ‘Limit access’ options under ‘Settings’.

If you do not have access to the draft and need to access it, you’ll need to ask GDS to change the access limits. For example, you need to access the draft but you cannot find anyone who already has access.

Explain in your request why you want to access the content.

If you know them, include in your request:

  • the title of the draft
  • the name of the person who created the draft

Use the content advice form to make your request.

You’ll need a Signon account with ‘content requesters’ permissions to access the form. Speak to your GOV.UK lead or managing editor if you want access.
